Nobel Hadgu is a recent graduate having studied Kinesiology at Holy Names University, just across the bridge. Nobel has been coaching since 2014, starting in New York City as part of the coaching staff that worked with the younger age groups at Staten Island Academy where he worked to enhance the technical level and soccer intelligence of younger players. After captaining the men’s soccer team for two seasons and winning the regular season conference championship at College of Staten Island, he moved back to San Francisco in 2015 after receiving his Associates degree.
Since moving back, he has had coaching stints with both Lions FC as well as the Aftershocks while attending and playing at Holy Names University. He also just finished his first season coaching George Washington High School to the CIF sectional championship game they haven’t been a part of since 1997, and only narrowly lost to Mission High School by a single goal in a tightly contested game.
Nobel has had a passion for soccer from a young age and having played at all levels including college, he quickly figured out that coaching was a natural fit for him. His coaching philosophy is put forward by firstly peaking the young players interest in training, so that they can achieve high level of success in order to feel empowered to problem solve in games and not be afraid to make mistakes. He currently holds National USSF D License, and plans to attend a USSF C License course that is offered this summer.
