The San Francisco Elite Academy's Goalkeeper Academy program is designed to develop the potential of
our goalkeepers for the highest levels of competitive play.
Training sessions are divided by skill level and physical maturity to maximize competitive play and
minimize the amount of goalkeepers per training session.

Justin Howell recently moved to SF this January from Toronto. For two years in Toronto Justin was the Director of Soccer Operations for the semi-professional academy Toronto Skillz FC. He also was head coach of the reserve team, senior women’s provincial team and head goalkeeper coach. Previously, he was a volunteer assistant coach with the women’s program at George Washington University (2010-11), the University of Kansas (2011-12), and now at the University of San Francisco.
Justin’s playing career consisted of being a part of the generation adidas Elite Soccer Program in 2001-2002 where he competed and showcased himself with the best players in the country. He was a scholarship player at Drake University, where it was a Top 25 program during his time there. Thereafter, Justin had professional trial opportunities with the Minnesota Thunder, Charleston Battery and Jönköpings Södra in Sweden’s top flight. Justin was able to pursue a starting position with the Thunder before injury led him to continue his love and passion for the game as a coach.
