SFEA Youth Teams Claim State Cup Final Wins

The San Francisco Elite Academy would like to congratulate our 2006 Girls and 2008 Girls on State Cup final wins this past weekend. In the Premier 4 division, coach Tom Atencio's 2006 Girls claimed the trophy with a 3-1 win over Blues Navy. In the semifinal they had defeated Manteca 1-0 and in the quarterfinals, played past San Carlos 3-1.

The 2008 Girls, led by coach Phelim O'Dougherty won the Premier 3 division with a convincing 4-2 win over Rocklin after beating Santa Clara Sporing Green and Palo Alto SC on their way to the title match.

In addition, our 2008 Boys (U11) finished runner-up in the Premier 6 division after falling 2-0 to Madera Premier.

We are very proud of these young players and happy to know their soccer future is a bright one. Congratulations to all our youth teams who completed their State Cups, many of them in style!

Congratulations to several of our 2004 and 2005 girls for making the PDP state team!!

Pictured are (left to right): Sam Gotch, Freya Youssef, Brianna Lucey, Thalia Robello. Not pictured but also selected is Kate Gerrity (04), Kaila Ehrlich (05), Stella Etchevery (05), Ariana Beddoes (05), and Ariel Fu Chen (06).

All of these SFEA girls are in the PDP state pools for their ages—a huge statement of SFEA’s leadership in player development in San Francisco.
